TSgt George L. Linen, Sr. (Retired)
TSgt George L. Linen Sr. is a Vineland, NJ resident and a dedicated Air Force veteran. He has served his country in various capacities, including as an Air Force JROTC Aerospace Science Instructor at Bridgeton High School for the past 17 years. TSgt Linen's commitment to education is evident in his academic achievements, including a bachelor's degree in educational studies from Ashford University and three associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in human resources management, occupational education, and aircraft maintenance. His military service is a testament to his dedication, as he retired honorably from the United States Air Force after serving 20-plus years.
TSgt Linen is Bernard and Mary Linen's oldest child. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ, where he met his high school sweetheart, Lennita Porter, and has been married for over 34 years. The father of four to former Air Force SSgt Alicia Linen, retired Navy Petty Officer Michael Rawles, Air Force TSgt George Linen, Jr., and MaryLanae Linen, a recent graduate from the University of Southern California. TSgt Linen is a proud grandfather of six. TSgt Linen lives and teaches by the Air Force core values, "Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All That You Do."
TSgt Linen's commitment to service extends beyond the classroom and the basketball court. He has served as the head coach for the Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland Campus Women's Basketball Team for the last three years, and before that, he led the Bridgeton High School Girls' Varsity Basketball Team. He is also a Bridgeton Education Association Union Representative for Bridgeton High School, a lifelong Chaplin for the VFW Post 1795, and a member of the NAACP.
TSgt Linen's involvement in the community is further demonstrated by his active membership in the Union Baptist Temple of Bridgeton, NJ, his role as a Police Athletic League Basketball coach and mentor, Bridgeton Education Association High School Representative, Bridgeton High School Teacher of the Year SY 2020 – 2021, and Air Force JROTC Outstanding Aerospace Science Instructor SY 2023-2024.
